2. Louise McCarthy-Teague – with 160 votes
3. Greg Latham – with 149 votes
4. Jim Berrisford* – with 147 votes
5. Philip Higgins – with 144 votes
The candidate in 6th position in the Individual Director elections received a total of 122 votes.
*Prior to the commencement of the 2011 Council Elections, Jim Berrisford decided to stand as a candidate in both the Corporate and Individual Elections, (which is permissible within the REC constitution). When the final voting tally was counted, Jim was successfully elected in both the Corporate and Individual Elections. Jim has advised that he will be taking up the position of Corporate Director on the Council, which means that the 5th Individual Director position on the REC Council will be filled by the candidate who received the next highest number of votes. In this case, the 5th candidate who has been elected as an Individual Director is Mike Cooper – with 122 votes.
The REC would like to congratulate all those who have been elected and thank all of the candidates who stood for election to the Council this year.
This year, for the first time, Members were given the option to cast their vote either online, by post, or in-person (at the AGM). As a result, over 5% of Individual Members and 8% of Corporate Members voted in the election, which is a remarkable increase over the number of votes cast in previous years. We will continue to offer all Members an opportunity to engage with the Council Elections in future years, to ensure all members’ play an active role in the REC, the IRP and the wider recruitment industry.
