IRP Awards 2010 - The Winners

David Tait crowned IRP Recruiter of the Year 2010

David Tait, Associate Director with Edinburgh-based Keillar Resourcing, was proclaimed the Institute of Recruitment Professionals’ Recruiter of the Year 2010.

David, resplendent in a kilt, received his top award from Kevin Green, the REC’s Chief Executive at a glittering ceremony held at The Brewery in London.  The prestigious title was awarded to him after he picked up the prize for the Best Client and Candidate Experience of the Year.

In their comments, the judges said they were impressed in particular  by his step by step approach to often challenging assignments including  moving multiple candidates from the UK to Dubai and Quatar.
These challenges included overcoming cultural differences, managing expectations for client and candidates, candidates’ relocation issues and co-ordinating interviews across three time zones.

Commenting on the launch of the 2010 IRP awards, Kevin Green, the REC’s Chief Executive, said:

“The awards are the perfect way to demonstrate that our industry is developing its people.  Each winner has a unique story to tell about how they have grown and developed and how this makes them a better recruiter -
These awards recognise and honour the achievements of individual recruiters and their employers and we are keen for as many recruiters to enter as possible.  We need positive role models who demonstrate excellence and make a difference everyday to candidates and clients.”
Compèring the awards dinner, attended by 370 people, was Sandi Toksvig, the award-winning broadcaster, comedian and author, while “Voice of the Balls” Alan Dedicoat announced the shortlisted nominees and winners.

In his opening address, Kevin Green told the audience: “All the winners tonight will be looked upon as role models for the industry.”
